Festa Major del Farró 2026: dates, the SEAT 600 parade and what to expect

The Festa Major del Farró 2026 runs from Saturday 5 September to Sunday 13 September. Three days on the plaça de Mañé i Flaquer, closed by the Trabucaires de Gràcia and a popular vermut, and best known for a cercavila of SEAT 600s.

What it is

El Farró is the lower half of a barri it shares with el Putxet, on the hillside between Vallcarca and Sant Gervasi, built up after the 1870s. The two halves share an administrative name and almost nothing else, including their festes: el Putxet holds its own festa major in the first half of June, and el Farró holds this one in September. They are separate events with separate programmes, and conflating them is the standard mistake.

El Farró's is short and tightly focused. It runs over three days with the plaça de Mañé i Flaquer as its epicentre, spilling into the barri's own facilities: the Centre Cívic Casa Sagnier and the courtyard of the Escola Mares Concepcionistes.

The Festa del Sis-cents

The fixture that makes this festa worth a detour has nothing to do with giants or fire. It is the Festa del Sis-cents: owners of the SEAT 600, the tiny car that motorised Spain in the 1950s and 1960s, bring them out and parade them through the barri's main streets in a cercavila.

It is an unusual thing to find in a festa major, and it is a very particular kind of local memory. The Sis-cents was the first car most Spanish families ever owned, and a street full of them is a street full of a specific decade. The Trabucaires de Gràcia and a popular vermut close the festa.

Why this one is worth the trip

Partly for the cars, which you will not see anywhere else on the festa calendar. Mostly because it is a genuinely small festa in a part of Barcelona that visitors have no reason to walk through: residential, steep, quiet, and almost entirely absent from any guide to the city.

Set expectations accordingly. This is three days in one square with a car parade and a vermut, not a fortnight of programming. That is the whole appeal.

Where it is

El Farró shares a barri with el Putxet and almost nothing else, including its festa: el Putxet holds its own in June. This one is short, hillside and residential, and its signature fixture is the Festa del Sis-cents.

The programme, day by day

The full programme is not published yet. The Festa Major del Farró programme is set by the street commissions and released by the organisers a few weeks before the festa, and it reaches the city's open event feed only after that. As of 7 August 2026 it had not.

Practical

Getting there. The FGC stops at Plaça Molina and Sant Gervasi both put you in walking distance of the plaça de Mañé i Flaquer, and they run from Plaça Catalunya. Metro Fontana and Lesseps on L3 work from the Gràcia side, with a walk across. The barri climbs, so coming in from above is easier than from below.

It is three days, not a fortnight. This is one of the shortest festes on the site. If the day you are free is not one of the three, there is no second chance.

What it costs. Nothing for the street programme, the cercavila or the vermut that closes it. Anything sit-down normally charges.

Do not go looking for the Putxet festa. The barri is called el Putxet i el Farró and holds two entirely separate festes: el Putxet's is in June, up on the hill around the park. This one is el Farró's, and it is lower down, around Mañé i Flaquer.

The car parade is the thing. The Festa del Sis-cents is what makes this festa distinctive and it is a cercavila, so it moves. Find out where it starts rather than waiting in the square.

It is a residential hillside. There is very little in the way of bars and restaurants aimed at outsiders up here, so eat before you come or plan on whatever the festa itself is serving.
