Vallcarca’s Festa Major will take place from Thursday 3 to Thursday 10 September 2026, with events centred on Plaça Farigola and Can Carol, the neighbourhood community centre. Residents and visitors can join free activities across the week, while tickets for the popular fideuà meal on Saturday 5 September go on sale at the community centre from 1 September.

The festival is organised by Can Carol, FEACCC and Espai Relacional. The Ajuntament de Barcelona’s event guide says the programme is intended for neighbours of all ages.

“Summer is ending, but in Vallcarca we do it warmly,” the municipal listing says, inviting the neighbourhood to celebrate together on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September in Plaça Farigola.

Correfoc and evening events on Friday

Activities at Can Carol begin at 7 pm on Friday 4 September with decorating in the square, fluorescent face painting and salsa dancing. A tabalada, a procession of percussion groups, is scheduled for 8.30 pm, followed by a correfoc at 9.30 pm.

A correfoc is a traditional fire-run event involving performers and fireworks. The municipal listing identifies the District of Gràcia as organiser of the Friday evening tabalada and correfoc.

Saturday programme includes food, music and crafts

Plaça Farigola will host the main festival day on Saturday 5 September, beginning at 11 am and continuing into the early hours. The schedule includes local craft stalls, a pairs table-tennis tournament, a circus workshop and an intergenerational dance event.

  • 11 am to 2 pm: local craft display, pairs table-tennis tournament and circus workshop.
  • 2.30 pm: popular fideuà meal. Fish fideuà costs €8.50; the vegan vegetable-and-mushroom option costs €7.50. Tickets are available from Can Carol from 1 September.
  • 4 pm to 8 pm: film-soundtrack music bingo, Irish dancing with Aires Celtes, a Holi colour event, and habaneras with burnt rum by Barcarola.
  • From 8 pm: a communal outdoor supper, for which attendees are asked to bring their own food container, followed by performances by Columba, Solc and PD La cara B.

The table-tennis tournament has limited capacity and places will be assigned in order of arrival, according to the programme.

A blood donation session is planned from 5 pm to 8.30 pm on Wednesday 9 September. The festival programme is listed by the Ajuntament de Barcelona’s guide, which gives Can Carol as the event location for the Festa Major.
