Residents and visitors can use the outdoor pool at CEM Tennis Montjuïc, a municipally owned sports centre managed by Reial Societat de Tennis Pompeia, for €12 this summer without joining the club. The occasional-access ticket must be booked through the CEM website at least three days ahead, and capacity is limited.

The pool is open every day from 09:00 to 20:30. Until this summer, access was restricted to club members and their guests, according to municipal and club sources cited by El Periódico.

“If someone wanted to go today, they could not, because capacity is full,” a CEM worker said.

People seeking a place should book their preferred date through CEM Tennis Montjuïc as early as possible. The report says Barcelona has 14 other municipal outdoor pools operating from May to September for those unable to secure a place.

Access introduced after pool refurbishment

Barcelona City Council requested that the pool be opened to the wider public, municipal and club sources told El Periódico. The change followed five months of refurbishment work that began in November to bring the pool in line with current rules; the general-admission fare took effect on 22 June.

The City Council renewed the club's concession to manage the facility for 10 years in 2025. It lists the concession as awarded to Associació Real Sociedad de Tenis Pompeya, with the file updated on 26 March 2025.

What the €12 ticket includes

General-admission users can use the pool and several services at the centre, including:

  • changing rooms and showers;
  • the grass solarium, towel hire and weights room;
  • the restaurant, television room and games room.

The small outdoor car park is reserved for members who pay an additional monthly charge.
