El Club de la Milanesa, the restaurant chain in which Lionel Messi is a partner, plans to open its first European venue in Castelldefels within three to six months, according to company plans reported by Barcelona Secreta.
The opening is expected before the end of 2026 and would give residents of Castelldefels and the wider Baix Llobregat area the first local branch of the Argentine chain. The company is still in the architectural design phase and intends to manage the restaurant directly during its initial period.
“Within three to six months, we believe we will arrive in Castelldefels, so people in Barcelona will be able to enjoy it there,” Gonzalo, a franchise partner, told Sport.
Plans include up to two Barcelona restaurants
The Castelldefels venue is intended to begin the chain’s European expansion. Its initial plan includes up to two further restaurants in Barcelona in the short term, with a target of five locations across Catalonia during its first years of operating in Europe.
El Club de la Milanesa was founded in 2007 and has nearly 70 restaurants in Argentina, Uruguay and the United States, according to Barcelona Secreta. A milanesa is a breaded meat dish closely associated with Argentine cooking.
