The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) and the Bombers de la Generalitat confirmed the incident. The explosion caused a partition wall to collapse, however, it did not result in "serious structural damage" to the building, according to the fire service.

SEM personnel attended to five individuals at the scene. Two of these required hospital transport. One person went to Hospital Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, and the other to Hospital General de l'Hospitalet.

Incidents like this can cause concern among the dense urban population.
