Three Incidents Across Districts
At least four people were injured in knife attacks across Barcelona over the weekend, with incidents reported in the Sant Martí, Nou Barris and Carmel districts. The attacks occurred between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning, according to police and emergency services.
Trinitat Nova: Road Dispute Turns Violent
One person was injured during a traffic dispute on Via Favència in the Trinitat Nova area on Saturday at around 16:00. Municipal sources told ACN that the argument between two drivers escalated, with one assaulting the other in the head with a bladed weapon before fleeing the scene. The injured person was taken to hospital in mild condition by the Medical Emergency System (SEM). As of Sunday morning, the Barcelona Urban Guard was still searching for the suspect.
A similar incident involving two drivers on Via Favència ended with one person lightly injured after a bladed weapon was used, according to El Periódico.
Sant Martí: Brawl Leaves One Injured, Two Detained
Around 21:15 on Saturday, a large street fight involving around a dozen people broke out on Carrer de la Llacuna in the Sant Martí district. Police were alerted and found one person injured by a bladed weapon. The Mossos d'Esquadra, the regional police force, arrested the alleged attacker and a second man on suspicion of making threats. The injured person was taken to hospital, beteve.cat reported.
Carmel: Two Minors Injured Overnight
In the early hours of Sunday, at approximately 01:30, two minors were injured in a knife attack on Carrer de Sigüenza in the Carmel neighbourhood. Police were alerted to one injured youth but found two victims at the scene. Both were taken to hospital by the SEM. Their lives are not in danger, Metrópoli reported. An investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible.
Nou Barris: Fifth Victim in Neck Attack
A fifth victim, a Dominican national, was stabbed in the neck during a fight in the Vilapicina area of Nou Barris, ElCaso.cat reported. The alert was received by the Mossos d'Esquadra at 23:45 on Saturday. Multiple police patrols attended the scene on Carrer de Beret, where the man, accompanied by friends, was found with non-life-threatening neck injuries. He was taken to hospital by two SEM ambulances. No arrests have been made in this case, and the investigation continues.
