Incident Response Underway

Several residents were evacuated from a building at number 28 Rambla del Fondo in Santa Coloma de Gramenet after the ceiling of an apartment collapsed on Tuesday 27 October 2026. Emergency services, including the Local Police, Firefighters, Mossos d'Esquadra, and municipal technicians, attended the scene to assess structural damage and ensure safety. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, which occurred in the morning hours.

Structural Repairs and Safety Assessments

A municipal technician is overseeing shoring work to secure the roof structure. Once stabilisation is complete, authorities will determine whether the three apartments still occupied meet safety standards for continued habitation. The Ajuntament de Santa Coloma de Gramenet has offered temporary accommodation resources to those affected, although affected residents have indicated they have alternative arrangements in place. Municipal services remain on site to monitor the situation and ensure ongoing safety.

The safety of residents is our top priority. We are working closely with technical experts to stabilise the building and assess next steps.
