Highway Delays Across Barcelona Region

Drivers in the Barcelona metropolitan area face major disruptions on the B-20 and AP-7 highways on Monday 26 October 2026, due to accidents, vehicle fires and mechanical failures. Two lanes are closed on the B-20 in Cornellà de Llobregat, heading towards Castelldefels, following an accident that has triggered traffic jams on the Ronda de Dalt from L'Hospitalet towards the Llobregat river. At Sant Boi, only one lane remains open after a vehicle caught fire earlier in the day, further slowing traffic.

AP-7 and Northern B-20 Congestion

On the AP-7, between Montornès del Vallès and Montmeló in the direction of Girona, a collision has reduced the road to a single open lane. Traffic is crawling over a one-kilometre stretch between kilometre markers 134 and 135, according to Trànsit, the Catalan traffic authority. Another breakdown is affecting the B-20 in Barcelona, northbound towards Nus de la Trinitat. One lane is closed between kilometre points 6.5 and 5.5, causing heavy congestion. Two separate incidents, a breakdown and a collision, are also slowing southbound traffic towards Nus Llobregat, each blocking one lane and creating two one-kilometre tailbacks between km 13–14 and km 15.5–16.5.

Drivers are advised to expect significant delays and consider alternative routes or public transport where possible, especially during peak morning and evening hours.

Public Transport and Travel Planning

While the current disruptions are road-focused, commuters are reminded to check real-time updates before travelling. The T-mobilitat app, managed by the Department of Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya in collaboration with ATM, AMB, TMB and FGC, provides live access to public transport status across the Barcelona metropolitan area’s seven integrated fare zones. The app supports contactless travel on metro, train, urban and night buses, and allows digital management of travel cards. Users can find top-up points and customer service centres via the T-mobilitat website. No major incidents have been reported on Rodalies, Metro or FGC networks as of 06:15, but travellers are urged to monitor updates through official channels including Rodalies de Catalunya and Info Barcelona.
