Monday 26 October: Calm and Dry Start
A placid start to the week is expected across Catalonia on Monday 26 October. High clouds will pass throughout the day, creating a variable sky, while the Costa Daurada will see intervals of low clouds in the morning and at midday. Despite this, no rain is forecast, making it a dry day. Humidity will be high in the early hours, with possible fog in the plains and valleys of the pre-coastal area and in the interior of Girona. After a cold Sunday morning, minimum temperatures will rise by around two degrees in many areas. Maximum temperatures will remain stable, easily exceeding 20°C, creating a pleasant atmosphere by midday and early afternoon. Winds will be light, from the southwest.
Midweek: Warmth and Isolated Drizzle
Tuesday brings a chance of light drizzle in the evening in the Alt Pirineu and Vall d’Aran, though most of Catalonia will remain dry. Morning fog is expected in various inland valleys and plains, clearing to leave large clear spells by midday. High clouds will return in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures could reach 23°C in parts of the central pre-coastal area, creating a warm sensation during sunny periods. On Wednesday, extensive morning fog is expected, particularly in the northeastern third of Catalonia, including Girona, Maresme, and Vallès Oriental. The sky will clear by midday in most areas, though low clouds may persist in the northeast. Some drizzle is possible in the afternoon in Girona, Maresme, Vallès Oriental, and Ripollès. Temperatures will remain similar to Tuesday’s, with slightly higher minima. A moderate tramuntana wind is expected in the morning in Empordà, shifting to a light sea breeze inland by afternoon.
Weekend: Clouds and Possible Rain
Thursday will mark a slight shift, beginning with light rain in the morning on the central coast down to Tarragonès, potentially spreading to pre-coastal counties in the afternoon. The sky will be hazy, with a noticeable drop in maximum temperatures. Friday could see further morning and midday rain in Montsià and Baix Ebre, though it will decrease in the afternoon. Widespread clear spells and extensive morning fog are expected. Saturday may see reactivation of rain in Terres de l’Ebre from the afternoon onwards, with a largely clear sky otherwise. Clouds will build up in the western Pyrenees by evening. The tramuntana wind could return on Saturday morning. Temperatures on Friday and Saturday will remain similar to Thursday’s, with cooler mornings but stable daytime highs. According to Meteocat, no significant temperature changes are expected over the weekend.
