Major Road Closures This Sunday
The 28th Cros Ciutat de Sant Cugat will take place on Sunday 8th November 2026 at Parc de la Pollancreda, with road closures starting at 7:00 AM and lasting until approximately 3:30 PM, according to the Sant Cugat City Council. Motorists should expect full traffic restrictions on three key routes:
- Avinguda Josep Puig i Cadafalch, from Carrer de Domènec i Muntaner towards Avinguda de Corts Catalanes
- Avinguda de Corts Catalanes, between the Can Calders roundabout and Carrer de Pau Casals
- Avinguda del Pla del Vinyet, between Carrer de Domènec i Muntaner and Plaça Rotary
These closures are necessary to accommodate the 18 age- and gender-separated races scheduled throughout the morning, which have made the event a major community fixture.
Resident Access and Venue Entry
Despite the closures, residents will still be allowed to access their driveways and parking spaces during the event. Access to Hípica Can Calders and the petanque courts will remain possible, but only via the Can Calders roundabout during the restricted hours.
Parking Ban Starts Saturday Evening
Parking will be prohibited from 9:00 PM on Saturday 7th November until 5:00 PM on Sunday 8th November on:
- Avinguda Josep Puig i Cadafalch, between Carrer de Domènec i Muntaner and Avinguda de Corts Catalanes
- Avinguda de Corts Catalanes, between Camí de Can Calders and Avinguda Josep Puig i Cadafalch
Motorists are advised to use alternative parking options, including the car park behind the petrol station on the Can Solà roundabout towards Cerdanyola, or on Carrer Puig i Cadafalch near the market.
Public Transport and Sustainable Travel Encouraged
Organisers recommend using public transport to reach the event. The Sant Cugat urban bus lines L1 and L8 serve the area. A supervised bicycle parking zone will be available on Avinguda de Corts Catalanes.
"We recommend approaching the 28th Cros on foot to avoid mobility issues and help care for our environment,"
said organisers in a guide published by the Municipal Office for Sport for All (Oficina Municipal d'Esports per a Tothom). The event, which includes a free Mini Cros for children aged 2 to 6, is expected to draw 3,639 registered participants and is described as a family-friendly celebration of sport in the municipality.
