Barcelona Metro trains will run until 1am on Sunday 19 July, one hour later than usual, as Spain plays Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), the city’s main public transport operator, says the extension covers the entire Metro network.
The later finish is intended to support travel from the city’s public screening at Marina del Fòrum. For spectators and other late-night passengers, normal service resumes at 5am on Monday 20 July.
TMB says the whole Metro network will operate for an additional hour, with trains running until 1am.
Big-screen event at Marina del Fòrum begins at 7pm
Barcelona City Council will install a giant screen at the Marina del Fòrum platform for the final, which is due to begin at 9pm. The controlled-access venue will open its pre-match programme of games and music at 7pm.
Access to the site is via Carrer de Josep Pla and Avinguda Litoral. The council’s event notice gives the following public transport options for people travelling to the screening:
- El Maresme / Fòrum station on Metro line L4.
- Tram line T4.
- Bus routes H16, V29, V31, V33, 7 and 136, which have different Sunday finishing times.
L1 replacement buses will also finish at 1am
Passengers using the L1 should allow extra time because improvement works are affecting the section between Florida and Plaça de Sants. TMB says replacement buses on that route will also operate until 1am on Sunday night.
Travellers should plan their route in advance and check the TMB notice on Metro improvement works, particularly if they need to travel through the L1 disruption.
