Current Transport Disruptions in Barcelona
Delays are affecting the Rodalies R8 line today, Saturday 7th November 2026, due to an ongoing replacement bus service between Rubí Can Vallhonrat and Martorell-Central / Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Eix Central Sud). Rail service operates normally between Rubí Can Vallhonrat and Granollers Centre, but passengers on the affected section must use the alternative road transport, which runs every 30 minutes. This arrangement is part of a longer-term adjustment linked to infrastructure work by Adif, according to Rodalies de Catalunya. The replacement service has been in place since early November and is expected to continue until further notice.
Heavy Traffic on B-23 and Other Routes
The B-23 access road to Barcelona is experiencing slow traffic, particularly between Molins de Rei and Barcelona, and between Molins de Rei and El Papiol, as reported by the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT). Additional congestion is noted on the AP-7 between El Papiol and Barberà del Vallès, with 15.5 kilometres of tailbacks in the direction of Girona. Other affected roads include the C-16 between Sant Cugat and Barcelona, the C-17 between Lliçà de Vall and Mollet, the C-59 near Caldes de Montbui, the C-60 at Roca del Vallès, and the C-31 through Badalona.
Metro and Other Rail Services
Barcelona Metro services are operating normally, except for the ongoing closure on L2 between La Pau and Gorg. This closure, which began on Monday 2nd November, is due to structural cracks detected in a tunnel section and is scheduled to last until 3rd December. Five stations remain closed: La Pau, Verneda, Artigues/Sant Adrià, Sant Roc, and Gorg. Elsewhere, FGC services are running as usual, with no reported disruptions. Rodalies lines R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R11, RG1, R13, R14, R15, R16, R17, RT1, RT2, RL3, and RL4 are operating under their current service patterns, with adjustments noted on the official Rodalies website.
Advice for Commuters
Passengers travelling on the affected R8 section are advised to allow extra time and check the latest updates via the Rodalies de Catalunya website or their official WhatsApp channel. Motorists approaching Barcelona from the west and north are encouraged to consider alternative routes or adjust travel times to avoid peak congestion. Information on road conditions is available through the Servei Català de Trànsit, and real-time updates are published on their official platforms.
