Widespread Delays Across Rodalies Network
Rodalies de Catalunya users are experiencing significant disruptions across the network on Saturday 7th November, with six lines running outside their normal schedules. Trains on lines R1, R2, R2 Nord, R2 Sud, R4, and Regionals Sud are facing delays and altered frequencies due to an "operational incident", the company confirmed through official channels. The disruptions began early on Saturday morning and continue to affect rail services across the Barcelona metropolitan area and surrounding regions. Passengers are advised to expect delays and adjust travel plans accordingly.
R4 Line Service Halted Between Sant Vicenç and El Vendrell
Service on the R4 line has been fully suspended between Sant Vicenç de Calders and El Vendrell in Tarragona since 09:18 due to the presence of a person on the tracks. This interruption halts all rail traffic on this section, with no trains currently operating. As a result, Rodalies has implemented a road-based alternative transport service to maintain connectivity. Shuttle buses are running between Sant Vicenç de Calders and El Vendrell to assist affected passengers. More details on the replacement service can be found on the official Rodalies website.
While efforts continue to resolve the incident, we urge passengers to check real-time updates before travelling.
R8 Line Faces Over 20-Minute Delays
The R8 line is also affected, with delays exceeding 20 minutes since 08:13. The issue stems from infrastructure problems at Castellbisbal station in Barcelona. Trains are running with reduced frequency and extended wait times, impacting commuters on this key route. Passengers on the R8 are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys and monitor updates via the @rod8cat Twitter account, which provides real-time service information.
