Three people have been arrested in the Mossos d'Esquadra investigation into a shooting in La Mina, Sant Adrià de Besòs, on 12 May. The incident occurred on Saturn Street and caused no reported injuries, but it has prompted searches across five municipalities.
For La Mina residents, the case concerns gunfire in a residential street in the neighbourhood, which lies on the border with Barcelona. Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's regional police force, said its investigation remains open while officers examine the seized material.
Six firearms and more than €40,000 seized
According to reporting by El Periódico, about 150 Mossos officers took part in the operation on Tuesday 14 July. The deployment included criminal investigation officers, public-order units, dog handlers, drone teams and forensic police.
Police carried out searches in Barcelona, Badalona, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Terrassa and Maçanet de la Selva. Two men and one woman were arrested.
- Three pistols were seized.
- Officers also recovered a revolver, a submachine gun and a shotgun.
- Police seized more than €40,000 in cash.
Police investigation remains open
La Razón, citing Mossos information published on X, reported that the Divisió d'Investigació Criminal, the force's criminal investigation division, is continuing to establish whether those arrested were responsible for the May shooting.
The investigation remains open to determine the possible involvement of those arrested in the incident, according to Mossos information cited by La Razón.
El Periódico reported that investigators suspect the shooting was linked to a dispute between family groups. That account described the allegation as a line of investigation rather than an established fact.
