The Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's regional police, launched an operation on Tuesday morning linked to a shooting in La Mina, Sant Adrià de Besòs, that happened in May. Searches are being carried out in Barcelona, Badalona, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Terrassa and Maçanet de la Selva, according to information released through the force's press service and confirmed by ACN.

For residents in La Mina and nearby parts of Sant Adrià de Besòs, the immediate consequence is a visible police presence tied to a firearms investigation that remains open. The May shooting did not leave any injured people, according to Mossos sources cited at the time, but officers said they were looking for those responsible.

The Mossos are carrying out an operation in several municipalities in the Barcelona metropolitan area in connection with the investigation into a shooting in La Mina in May.

The force's official press channel is the main source for updates on the operation. Residents who want confirmed information can check that page as the investigation develops, while any immediate security incident should be reported through the usual emergency channels.

The shooting under investigation happened on Carrer de Saturn

According to Mossos sources cited by La Vanguardia on 13 May 2026, several shots were fired at about 6pm on Carrer de Saturn in La Mina. No injuries were reported.

The same report said the alleged attackers fired from a vehicle and then fled. Police also received information about a second incident around 1.5 kilometres away, in the Montsolís area of Sant Adrià de Besòs, where a vehicle was later found with bullet impacts.

Mossos did not confirm a link between the two incidents at the time. They also did not confirm reports that the shooting may have followed an earlier dispute between two family clans.

ACN reported that the operation began on Tuesday 14 July and includes raids and searches. The material released so far does not state how many warrants are being executed or whether any arrests have been made.
