The Terra i Gust sustainable food festival will take place from 26 to 28 September at Parc de la Ciutadella, marking its fifth edition as part of Barcelona’s annual La Mercè festivities. Organised by the Ajuntament de Barcelona, the Associació de Gastronomia i Turisme del Baix Llobregat, and Slow Food Barcelona, the event promotes responsible consumption, local produce, and environmentally conscious gastronomy.

This year’s edition features 14 participating restaurants, including Uniko representing Shanghái as guest city, offering 28 different tapas-sized dishes, half of them vegetarian, at €5 each. The event also includes six craft beer producers selected by the Barcelona Beer Festival, natural wine bodegas, and artisanal coffee and ice cream makers.

Culinary Demonstrations and Sustainability Workshops

The 'Aula de Cuina' area will host live cooking demonstrations by chefs Rafa Peña, Artur Martínez, and Wenbin Peng. These sessions aim to highlight responsible cooking practices and the importance of local sourcing in urban food culture.

Visitors can also engage in workshops and activities at the 'Espai Consum Responsable', focused on reducing food waste and promoting sustainable lifestyles. The event aligns with Barcelona’s designation as Capital Europea del Comercio Local 2026 and celebrates Catalunya’s recognition as a World Region of Gastronomy.
