Santa Maria del Mar Rooftop Tours Cut to €9.22

Reduced-Price Access for Key Catalan Festivals

Visitors can now explore one of Barcelona’s most iconic Gothic landmarks, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, and its rooftops for a reduced fee during two major civic celebrations.

For Catalonia’s National Day on 11 September and the city’s main festival La Mercè on 24 September, guided tours of the basilica and its rooftops will cost 9.22 euros.

This is a significant reduction compared to the regular tour price of 17.41 euros, which includes a full visit to the interior, crypt, tribunes, and panoramic rooftop views.

Timed Sessions Available on Key Dates

On Friday, 11 September, tours will run at 11:30 and 13:00. On Thursday, 24 September, sessions begin at 16:30 and 18:00.

Each guided visit lasts approximately one hour and provides access to areas not usually open to the general public, including elevated walkways offering sweeping views across the Gothic Quarter and towards the sea.

The basilica, constructed starting in 1329 from Montjuïc stone, is considered a masterpiece of Catalan Gothic architecture. Its design emphasises light, with stained glass and rose windows illuminating the interior as a symbolic representation of divinity.

During the La Mercè festival from 23 to 27 September, other emblematic buildings across Barcelona also open for free or discounted visits, but Santa Maria del Mar remains one of the most sought-after due to its architectural significance and rare rooftop access.
