Arrest Linked to 2018 Pakistan Homicide
The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 25-year-old man in Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood after confirming he was the subject of an active international arrest warrant issued by Pakistani authorities. According to Catalan police, the suspect is accused of committing a fatal shooting and causing serious injuries during a land dispute in Pakistan in 2018. At the time of the incident, he was 18 years old. The arrest took place on Monday, 28 September 2026, just after 5:10 p.m., outside number 76 on Nou de la Rambla street, directly in front of the Ciutat Vella police station. Officers from the Ciutat Vella Citizen Security Unit carried out the detention after running his identification and discovering the outstanding warrant.
Also Investigated in Connection with 2025 Homicide
In addition to the charges stemming from Pakistan, the Mossos have reported that the man is allegedly involved in a second homicide that occurred in 2025. Police have not disclosed where this second incident took place or clarified the extent of his involvement. No further details about the circumstances of the case have been released.
The individual is currently in judicial custody pending further proceedings, including potential extradition requests from Pakistan.
