Free Event Offers Practical Safety Guidance

The Guàrdia Urbana and Bombers de Barcelona will participate in the Barcelona International Community Day (BICD) this Saturday 31st October at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, providing practical safety information for international residents. BICD is an annual event designed to welcome foreign professionals and support the integration of non-Spanish speakers living in the city. The event serves as a key meeting point for the international community, offering access to city services, networking, and cultural activities.

On-the-Ground Advice from City Services

At a shared stand, officers from the Guàrdia Urbana, Barcelona’s municipal police force, will give advice on preventing theft, safe movement around the city, and how to respond in risky situations. Firefighters from Bombers de Barcelona will provide fire prevention tips for homes, basic self-protection guidelines, and clear instructions on what to do in an emergency. Attendees can ask questions in person and receive informational materials in multiple languages covering civic safety and emergency procedures.

The goal is to provide tools and knowledge that contribute to safer coexistence and better integration for people from other countries who have chosen Barcelona to live, work or study.

Free Entry with Prior Registration

The event includes workshops, conferences, and a fair featuring businesses and organisations offering services to international residents. While admission is free, prior registration is required. The event takes place on Saturday 31st October 2026 at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, located at Moll d’Espanya, 08039. Residents are encouraged to sign up via the official BICD website to secure attendance.
