Reduced FGC Services on 11 November
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will run at 25% of its usual service during peak hours on Wednesday 11th November, as part of minimum services mandated for the regional general strike. The reduced operation will affect Barcelona-Vallès, Llobregat-Anoia, and Lleida-La Pobla lines from 6.30 to 9.30 and 16.30 to 21.00. Outside these times, no minimum services have been set. FGC operations will depend on strike participation, with potential full suspensions possible.
During the rest of the day, service will depend on strike turnout, as no minimum levels are mandated.
Tourist Trains May Be Disrupted
FGC’s tourist lines, the Montserrat rack railway and funiculars, and the Núria rack railway, may also face disruptions depending on strike adherence. No specific minimum services have been established for these routes. Passengers are advised to monitor updates via FGC’s official Twitter account @FGC, its website www.fgc.cat, and its mobile app. Information will also be shared through digital channels dedicated to the tourist rail services.
Wider Strike Context
The 11th November strike has been called by major unions UGT and CCOO, joined by CGT and CNT, over the housing crisis, wages, and cost of living. It coincides with a snap general election on 29th November. Catalonia’s government has set minimum services for public transport, including metro, Rodalies, trams, and buses, at 25% during peak hours, with airport buses operating at 50%.
