The Ajuntament of Esplugues de Llobregat has declared two days of official mourning following the violent death of a woman in the city on Saturday morning. Police arrested a man in connection with the incident.

Official Mourning Declared

The mourning period covers Sunday and Monday. During this time, flags will fly at half-mast on municipal buildings. This gesture shows institutional condolences and the city's solidarity with the victim's family and all affected individuals.

The Ajuntament has also called for a public concentration on Monday at 18:00. This gathering will take place in front of the town hall. It aims to express "condolences, solidarity with affected people, and firm rejection of violence," according to an official statement.

Mossos d'Esquadra officers arrested a man on Saturday as the alleged perpetrator of the woman's death. The Ajuntament confirms ongoing coordination with the police force. They have also offered institutional collaboration in the investigation.

Local authorities praised the quick response of two Esplugues Local Police officers. These officers were the first to intervene at the scene.
