Arrest Made in Early-Morning Raid on Casanova Street
The Mossos d'Esquadra and Barcelona's Guàrdia Urbana have dismantled a synthetic drug distribution point in a residential flat on Carrer de Casanova in the Eixample district. One man, aged 38 and without prior criminal record, was arrested on Tuesday 3rd November 2026 during a search operation that began at 6:00 a.m. A second man was identified at the scene and is now under investigation, Catalan police confirmed on Wednesday 4th November 2026.
Large Seizure of Drugs and Cash
During the raid, officers seized 325 grams of MDMA, 244 grams of methamphetamine, 95 grams of ketamine, along with supplies of Tusi, GHB, two precision scales, and €11,000 in cash. The operation followed a two-week investigation initiated by the Guàrdia Urbana’s Investigation Unit after repeated complaints from residents about suspected drug activity affecting their quality of life and community safety.
The joint operation has dismantled a significant urban drug distribution point in central Barcelona.
Joint Police Taskforce Responds to Community Concerns
A joint taskforce was formed between the Guàrdia Urbana and the Mossos d'Esquadra, including the Regional Public Health Investigation Unit of the Mossos, to address the case. The coordinated effort culminated in Tuesday’s operation. Police have confirmed the distribution point is now dismantled, but the investigation remains open to determine the full extent of the second man’s involvement. Residents of the building and surrounding area in Dreta de l’Eixample had reported ongoing disturbances linked to suspected drug trafficking, prompting the initial inquiry.
