Warhol Retrospective Launches in Barcelona

Barcelona will host a major exhibition dedicated to Andy Warhol from Friday 13th November 2026, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the artist’s death. The retrospective, titled Andy Warhol: Pop Icons, will open to the public at Palau Martorell, a neoclassical building in Ciutat Vella located at Carrer Ample, 11. The exhibition is curated by Edoardo Falcioni and Lola Durán Úcar and features over 180 works, including paintings, screen prints, drawings, photographs, and Polaroids. It showcases Warhol’s most iconic pieces, such as the Campbell’s Soup cans, portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Liz Taylor, and Michael Jackson, as well as legendary record covers. According to information published on the official city agenda, the exhibition aims to explore how Warhol broke down boundaries between art, music, fashion, and mass culture. It is described as a tribute to one of the most influential and revolutionary artists of the 20th century.
