Vilanova i la Geltrú’s Festa Major de les Neus, the town’s annual festival honouring its patron saint, is listed by the Diputació de Barcelona, Barcelona Provincial Council, as running from Saturday 18 July to Thursday 6 August 2026. Residents and visitors can expect activities in streets and squares across the town, while the most traditional dates are the eve of the feast day, 4 August, and 5 August itself.
The [official Festa Major website](https://festamajorvng.cat/) is publishing festival updates and has a 2026 graphic identity. The Ajuntament de Vilanova i la Geltrú, the town council, says the programme and poster are normally presented at the beginning of July.
Fire parades, dance and human towers
According to the [Ajuntament’s Festa Major page](https://www.vilanova.cat/festa_major), the programme includes traditional popular dances, family street activities, processions, casteller performances and concerts. Castellers are groups that build human towers, a longstanding Catalan cultural tradition.
The council also lists the convit a la festa, or invitation to the festival, and the 12 morterets, ceremonial mortar blasts, among the regular events. A correfoc, a fire-run procession involving performers and pyrotechnics, is also part of the festival’s usual programme.

People interested in applying can follow the process through the [Festa Major de Vilanova i la Geltrú website](https://festamajorvng.cat/).
