Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police force, are investigating two men and a woman over the alleged burglary of a home in Terrassa after a traveller left house keys inside a vehicle collected at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, according to reporting published by Crónica Global on Thursday 15 October 2026.

The case affects travellers using valet parking services that collect cars at the terminal. The vehicle was allegedly collected by Car and Fly Garage, a platform offering to take customers’ vehicles from the airport terminal, park them while they travel and return them to the terminal on their return.

Crónica Global reported that the alleged break-in occurred after the keys left inside the vehicle were used to enter the customer’s home. The events date to the end of August.

Three people under investigation

Officers from the Terrassa Investigation Unit are carrying out proceedings against the three people in connection with an alleged aggravated theft. In Spain, this is a theft offence treated as more serious because of the circumstances in which it is alleged to have been committed.

The investigation concerns the people’s alleged access to both the vehicle and the house keys. The Mossos have not announced any arrests in the material available.

What airport users can do

Travellers handing over a vehicle should not leave home keys or other valuables inside it. The Mossos’ airport security guidance says people wishing to report an incident should go to a police station with identification.

For an irregularity at the airport, the Mossos advise notifying the person in charge or the security service. Airport emergencies can be reported by calling 112.
