Arrests Made in Fatal March Shooting
The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested three young men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man on 28 March at Parc de les Planes in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The arrests took place on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, in the same city. Those detained are aged 18, 19 and 29. One was under 18 at the time of the shooting and is classified as a minor offender under Spanish law. A second young person was seriously injured in the same incident.
Weapons Found During Raids
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers from the Divisió d'Investigació Criminal (DIC) searched three homes linked to the suspects. During one of the raids, police recovered a loaded firearm pending forensic analysis to determine if it was used in the crime.
The investigation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out.
No Gang Conflict Confirmed
According to sources cited by ARA, the suspects are believed to be associated with Trinitaris, a youth group active in L'Hospitalet that has been the focus of regional policing efforts against emerging violent groups. However, authorities stress the shooting is not believed to be linked to inter-gang violence. Neither the deceased nor the injured youth were members of any known group. Police believe the shooting followed a prior argument between two groups at a public square in L'Hospitalet.
