Arrest Made After Break-In Attempt
Residents of Sant Adrià de Besòs detained a man inside an apartment on Avinguda de les Corts Catalanes this Wednesday morning, after he allegedly entered using keys taken from a hospitalised patient. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) were called to the scene shortly before 10:00 following multiple emergency calls. Officers found several locals preventing the suspect from leaving the property. He was later identified as an employee of Hospital del Mar, though his specific role within the hospital has not been disclosed.
The suspect is accused of taking the victim’s keys directly from their hospital room while they were receiving treatment.
Jewelry Targeted in Theft Attempt
According to ElCaso.com, the man used the stolen keys to access the building and apartment without force. His intended target appears to have been jewellery kept by the patient at home. No injuries were reported during the incident. The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted robbery with force. They have opened an investigation to determine whether he has committed similar offences in the past. Neither the suspect’s age nor nationality has been released.
