Far-right group explores local council bids
The Spanish far-right party Se Acabó la Fiesta (SALF), led by MEP Luis 'Alvise' Pérez, is actively considering standing candidates in the 2027 municipal elections in Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Badalona, according to sources confirmed by Metrópoli Abierta. Although no official candidacy has yet been registered, the party has begun mobilising in the Besòs area under the slogan 'SALF is already present'. Supporters in Santa Coloma cite demands for 'real public housing, quality public services, a safe city free from squatting, and care for residents' as central to their local platform. The group has also issued an open call for volunteers in Esplugues de Llobregat, with a public announcement titled 'We are looking for candidates to form a team in Esplugues de Llobregat'. Similar efforts are underway in Cornellà de Llobregat, Sabadell, and Mollet del Vallès, though these remain in early stages.
Focus remains on national elections
SALF's immediate priority is the upcoming general election on 29 November 2026, where Pérez will lead the party's list in Madrid. On 5 October, he confirmed the decision in a social media video, stating the party's executive had approved his candidacy. According to reporting by elconstitucional.es, Pérez faces six ongoing criminal investigations at Spain's Supreme Court, including allegations of illegal party financing, harassment, threats, and public disorder. One high-profile case involves 100,000 euros in cash allegedly received from businessman Álvaro Romillo before the 2024 European elections. Despite this, the party is positioning itself for broader political influence. "We want to make known the working groups that we are already forming in each municipality; now our focus and short-term objective are the general elections, but we do not rule out running in the municipal elections later," a party source said.
"The time has come to take a step forward, raise our voices, and work together to achieve a safer, more peaceful, and protected Esplugues,"
the party declared in its recruitment drive for Esplugues de Llobregat.
No formal candidacy yet, but groundwork underway
While SALF has not officially registered for the 2027 local elections, internal sources confirm that building local teams is a strategic objective. The decision to run will depend on post-election developments following the November 2026 national vote. The party's messaging contrasts with official crime statistics in Santa Coloma. The Ajuntament de Santa Coloma reports an 8.5% reduction in crime over 27 consecutive months, according to its public bulletin and official website. However, SALF supporters have criticised the local council led by Mireia González for delays in evicting an occupied building they claim has long disturbed residents. SALF has not yet published detailed policy proposals or governance plans for any municipality. Its current strategy appears centred on social media outreach and video documentation of urban issues. As political activity intensifies in the Barcelona metropolitan area, the potential entry of SALF into local races adds a new dynamic to the upcoming municipal campaign.
