Barcelona is the finish point for a new 300-kilometre ultra-race that starts in Vallter, in the Catalan Pyrenees. The event is called the Camino de Dragones, also known as the Dragons' Path.

According to Ultres Catalunya, the route crosses a wide range of landscapes across Catalonia. It adds another demanding endurance event to the region’s running calendar.

Vallter is in the Ripollès area, high in the Pyrenees, while Barcelona gives the race a clear city finish. That contrast between mountain and urban terrain is part of the event’s appeal for ultra-runners.

Catalonia has become a strong setting for ultra-running because of its varied geography, from the northern mountains to the Mediterranean coast. The new race adds to that profile and may also support sports tourism in the region.

The race’s official site is caminodedragones.es. For more local coverage, see Sport and Community.
