A man died on Barcelona’s Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes after falling into the road and being hit by a bus, according to Mossos d’Esquadra.

The incident happened in the Eixample, on one of the city’s busiest central roads. For drivers, bus passengers and nearby residents, the key point is that police are still investigating and have not released the man’s identity.

What police have confirmed

According to Mossos d’Esquadra, there were no signs of criminality. Officers are treating the case as a possible suicide, and the investigation is ongoing. The force has not given further details.

The road involved, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, cuts through central Barcelona and carries heavy traffic through the Eixample. That means any police activity in the area can affect bus movements, car traffic and access for people living or working nearby.
