35th Edition Celebrates With International Stars
The Cerdanyola International Blues Festival marks its 35th anniversary from 2 to 11 October 2026, returning with a diverse lineup of international and local artists. Organised by the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, the event has become one of Catalonia’s most enduring blues festivals since its launch in 1988. This year’s headliners include Mississippi soul blues veteran Johnny Rawls, Serbian blues-rock guitarist Ana Popovic, Louisiana-based rising star D.K. Harrell, New Orleans singer-songwriter Andrew Duhon, and French soul-funk ensemble JOEL.
Expanded City-Wide Music Programme
The festival will feature around 48 concerts across multiple venues, blending large-scale performances with intimate gigs in bars and public spaces. The main stage, Carpa Xarau, will host headline acts, while the 'Blues a la Ciutat' programme brings music to over 20 local establishments including bars, pubs, and cultural spaces such as Sala Enric Granados and the Mercat de les Fontetes. Artists participating in the city-wide programme include Memphys Train, The Momento, Txus Blues & César Canut, Sun Street Blues, Vodoo Jazz Band, Murphy's Band, Alabama, Carlos Navarrete Quartet, Broken Souls, Enma Fernández Trio, Firewood Blues Band, The Midnight Rockets, Los Carras, Duo Costalago, The Sixties, Trebor Blues Club, Aluna Duet, Pataliebre, Crazy Rockets, Wild Incordios, Antonio Hidalgo & Les Blues Troupe, Big Mama Montse, Xavi Rizzo, Hareprise Jam Session, Blues Tiger, Kowalsky y Los Despedidos, and Habit Rouge.
Special Anniversary Concert and Art Exhibition
A highlight of the festival is the 20th anniversary celebration of Barcelona band A Contra Blues. On Sunday 4 October, they will reunite with the Jove Orquestra de Cerdanyola (JOC) and the Cerdanyola Blues Band for a special orchestral blues performance first staged in 2017. The festival’s visual identity, designed by illustrator and graphic designer Adrià Ferrer Marquès under the artistic name El Marquès, will be showcased in an exhibition at Sala Elisa Arimany from 2 to 30 October.
This edition reaffirms our commitment to musical diversity and community engagement, blending international talent with local creativity.
