Oktoberfest Barcelona will begin at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet on Thursday 24 September, moving from its previous site at Fira de Montjuïc because of construction work there. The festival will run across three Thursday-to-Sunday periods until 11 October.
For L'Hospitalet residents, the move brings the event to the municipality for the first time. Organisers say the new venue will provide more capacity and additional spaces, and is expected to reduce queues.
Opening ceremony at 19:00 on Thursday
Doors will open at 17:00 on Thursday, with the official inauguration scheduled for 19:00. A guest will tap the first beer barrel in the traditional opening ritual.
The ceremony will include the traditional Bavarian announcement meaning, “The barrel is tapped”, made after the first barrel is opened.
Food and drink will be available at the venue, including beer and sausages, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.
Dates and opening times
The event's timetable will follow the same daily opening hours over each of its three weekends:
- Thursdays: 17:00 to 23:00, on 24 September, 1 October and 8 October.
- Fridays: 17:00 to 01:00, on 25 September, 2 October and 9 October.
- Saturdays: 12:00 to 01:00, on 26 September, 3 October and 10 October.
- Sundays: 12:00 to 23:00, on 27 September, 4 October and 11 October.
