Festival Dates and Community Focus

The Festa Major de Canyelles will take place from Friday 3 October to Sunday 12 October 2026, as confirmed by beteve.cat, continuing a long-standing tradition in the Nou Barris neighbourhood of Barcelona.

Organised by local associations, the festival highlights Canyelles’ strong community network. Music, dance, and cultural events will be held across public spaces including the Parc de Josep Maria Serra i Martí and along Carrer de Federico García Lorca.

Main Events Include Giants, Concerts and Family Fun

Cultural staples such as human towers, gegants i capgrossos (giants and big-head figures), Sevillanas, flamenco, salsa, zumba, and havaneres will feature throughout the programme.

Family-friendly offerings include a children's hot chocolate event, treasure hunts, traditional games, printing workshops, and daily bingo sessions at the Associació de Veïns de Canyelles on Carrer de Federico García Lorca, 27.

Live music includes a tribute to Estopa titled Cacho a Cacho, a homage to Antonio and Rosario Flores, and performances by La Fàbrica and local group Falcons de Barcelona.

"The dance and music play a key role in the programming," according to the official festival overview published by beteve.
  • Friday 10 October: Tribute concert to Estopa at 21:30
  • Saturday 11 October: Popular botifarra lunch for €2 at 11:00
  • Sunday 12 October: Closing day with international food and live rock music
