Surface transport in parts of western and central Barcelona will face significant disruptions on Sunday 1st November 2026 due to the BUFF® Montjuïc - Tibidabo 2026 Race, the fifth edition of the annual athletic event. Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has warned that 29 bus lines will see their routes altered or suspended between approximately 8am and 11am as the 10-kilometre urban race proceeds from Montjuïc Castle to the Centre Asturià de Barcelona.
TMB recommends passengers use the metro instead for journeys near the race route. The race begins at 8am on the esplanade of Montjuïc Castle and follows a route along Carrer del Castell, Passeig del Migdia, Carrer dels Tarongers, Avinguda Miramar, Av. de l’Estadi, Plaça Sant Jordi, Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, Av. Rius i Taulet, and through streets including Lleida, Tamarit, Entença, Deu i Mata, Constança, the underpass of Illa Diagonal, Caravel·la La Niña, Av. Sarrià, Pl. Prat de la Riba, Passeig Sant Joan Bosco, Pl. Artós, Major de Sarrià and Ramon Miquel i Planas, Av. Josep Vicenç Foix, and Carrer Naranjo de Bulnes.
This year’s race is limited to the 10km urban format. The traditional 21km version, which extends into the Collserola Natural Park, has been suspended due to health restrictions linked to an African swine fever outbreak.
