Food, Music and Local Flavours in El Born

The 18th edition of Born Street Food will run from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September at Pla de Palau in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella district, marking the start of the city’s La Mercè festivities. Organised by the Associació Barcelona Born Gourmet under the Born Districte Gastronòmic seal, the event will transform the square into a hub of gastronomy, drink and live music from 12:00 to 23:00 each day. Eighteen restaurants and gourmet shops from the Born Districte Gastronòmic network will serve dishes made with local ingredients, cooking on-site for visitors. The festival aims to bring high-quality restaurant fare to the street, making it accessible to a wider audience.

New Additions and Returning Favourites

Four new establishments are joining the festival this year as part of the expanding Born Districte Gastronòmic group. Espai Puntual will serve roasted organic pork, bacon, pickles, peanuts and citrus mayonnaise on Vienna bread. Bar Super will offer its 'Superbuti' sandwich, while Arcano will present a butifarra brioche with truffle cream and crispy mushrooms. Chef David Barrosos from Mercat de Santa Caterina will serve his 'Brutal Smash' burger. Returning participants include Sagardi (Cadaqués, 1881 by Sagardi, Bodegas Vidrios&Cristales), Italian venues Bronzo Bar e cucina and Salumi &Co, Mexican spot Oaxaca, and Japanese restaurant Ikoya. For desserts, Jon Cake will be present, and cheese lovers can visit Vila Viniteca, which will also host daily tastings led by sommelier Quim Vila and cheese expert Bausa at 12:30.

'El Rebost' Highlights Local Products

A new feature this year is El Rebost (The Pantry), a dedicated space showcasing artisan Catalan products. It will offer wine and cheese tastings, alongside workshops on gastronomy and cocktails, highlighting regional producers and craftsmanship.
