Barcelona was one of the main stops for a five-person delegation from Strasbourg that visited Catalonia from 2 to 4 June to study local youth policies. The trip was coordinated by the Catalan Youth Agency (ACJ), according to a statement from the Catalan Government.
The delegation also visited L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Vilanova i la Geltrú and Calella. The aim was to share working methods on youth engagement and support, and to see how local councils put those policies into practice.
In Barcelona, the visit focused on how city and municipal services support young people. The article says these policies can cover education, employment, housing and social inclusion, areas that remain central to youth planning across the city and the wider metropolitan area.
The exchange also gave Strasbourg officials a chance to compare approaches with councils in the Barcelona area and along the coast. The Catalan Youth Agency worked with local authorities to coordinate the programme across the different towns.
