Barcelona’s Trambesòs tram network is due to face summer service interruptions while the Ajuntament de Barcelona carries out improvement works. The council says the aim is to improve the tram service for residents and visitors.
The notice says the disruption will happen during summer, but it does not yet give start and end dates. It also does not name the lines affected in the first announcement.
Trambesòs links eastern Barcelona districts such as Sant Martí with nearby municipalities including Sant Adrià de Besòs and Badalona. It is a key daily route for people travelling to work, school, and other activities in and around the city.
The works are part of ongoing maintenance and upgrades to Barcelona’s public transport network. The council has not yet set out the full scope of the project, but these jobs usually cover track maintenance, signal upgrades, or station improvements.
Anyone who uses the tram regularly should check official updates before travelling. The council says more information will follow, including the timetable for interruptions and any alternative transport options. You can also follow Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona for service notices.
