Construction Project Tendered in Les Corts

The Barcelona City Council has moved forward with plans to build 76 publicly protected homes on Carrer d’Entença in the Les Corts district. The project, managed by the Municipal Institute of Housing and Rehabilitation of Barcelona (IMHAB), is part of the wider transformation of the former industrial site known as Colònia Castells. The housing development will be located at Carrer d’Entença 250–282, extending to Carrer del Montnegre, 46. It combines private-sector construction of between 150 and 160 apartments with a reserved public housing component of 76 units.

First Stone Expected in January 2028

David Escudé, councillor for the Les Corts district, confirmed the timeline in comments reported by Infobarris and published by betevé. He stated that the winning team for the project design and construction supervision will be known by January 2027, allowing the executive project to proceed. The first stone is expected to be laid around January 2028.

It is the realization of a major project that is a much-awaited, desired, and earned development in Les Corts.

The park, bounded by Carrer d’Entença, Taquígraf Serra, Equador, and Montnegre, will feature a central plaza, community gardens, children’s play areas, fitness circuits, and over 180 new trees. Work on the green space began in late 2022 and was expected to finish by February, according to a city planning document published on bcnroc.ajuntament.barcelona.cat. This latest housing tender follows previous IMHAB-led improvements in the area, including energy efficiency upgrades to 60 homes on Carrer del Montnegre, 39, as listed in the Barcelona Provincial Council’s official contracting portal.
