Another jewellery store robbery has struck Barcelona’s upper district this week, as thieves targeted Enric Jofre on Carrer de Santa Fe de Nuevo México in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi area in the early hours of Friday 30th October. According to Elcaso, who reported the incident, the gang forced open the security shutter and smashed the display window shortly before 4.30am, setting off the alarm. Police from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the regional police force, arrived quickly but found only shattered cases and missing valuables. The suspects fled before officers arrived and remain at large.

The owner filed a formal complaint and provided security footage to the Divisió d'Investigació Criminal (DIC), which has taken over the investigation. The shop was left significantly damaged, though the alarm likely interrupted the full theft.

Pattern of Recent High-End Thefts

This incident follows another robbery just days earlier on Tuesday 27th October, when a 4x4 vehicle was driven into the front of Octavi Torner jewellery store on Passeig de Manuel Girona in Pedralbes. Thieves stole high-value watches and jewellery before escaping. Locals told Elcaso that an attempted break-in had already occurred at the same store the previous Sunday, 25th October, suggesting possible surveillance.

These repeated attacks in affluent areas are raising concerns among residents and business owners about rising commercial crime in central Barcelona.

Neither case has led to arrests, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether the two robberies are linked. Residents in Sarrià, Pedralbes and nearby areas are advised to report any suspicious activity to the Mossos d'Esquadra via their official non-emergency portal or by calling 016 for urgent concerns.
