New Home moves into former Miró flagship in Sant Antoni
New Home, the low-cost home decor and furniture chain often referred to as the "Chinese Ikea", is preparing to open a new store in Barcelona's Sant Antoni neighbourhood. The location, at 66 Ronda de Sant Antoni, is a protected 19th-century building that once housed the Pius Rubert Laporta umbrella factory and later served as the flagship store for the now-defunct Catalan electronics chain Miró. The space spans over 2,000 square metres and will be converted into a full-scale New Home bazaar selling home decor, kitchenware, and household items. The chain also offers delivery and furniture assembly services, similar to those provided by Ikea.

Although the new store is not yet visible on Google Maps or listed on New Home’s official website and social media channels, the company NEW HOME SANT ANTONI S.L. is officially registered at Ronda Sant Antoni, 66. This confirms the chain’s plans to expand its presence in the Catalan capital.
New Home already operates three stores in Barcelona: at Gran Via 433, Gran Via 499, and Comte d'Urgell 20. The addition of the Sant Antoni location will strengthen its footprint in the city. The building’s transformation aligns with broader urban renewal efforts in the area, including pedestrianisation and green space improvements approved by Barcelona’s municipal government in March 2023.
With the opening of this store, the chain will expand its presence in the Catalan capital.
