Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's regional police force, are investigating a reported revolver threat on Carrer de Pau Piferrer in Badalona on Sunday 18th October. ElCaso reported that a man allegedly threatened another resident at about 7.30am before entering a property at number 89.

For people living near the street, the immediate police response has ended, but the reported weapon had not been found and no arrest had been made when ElCaso published its report on Sunday afternoon. The reason for the alleged threat has not been disclosed.

According to ElCaso, neighbours called the 112 emergency number after witnessing the incident. Officers then attended the address to investigate.

Man found asleep inside property, report says

ElCaso said the man entered the home after the alleged threat. It did not identify the property owner or say whether the man lived there.

The officers were accompanied by an ARRO unit, the Mossos' regional operational resources unit. They were able to enter because the door had been left open, according to the report.

Inside, officers found the man asleep. ElCaso reported that police did not find the revolver that witnesses said had been used during the alleged threat.

No arrests had been made because of a lack of evidence, according to ElCaso's account of the police investigation.

Claim that weapon was passed to a woman is unconfirmed

Some witnesses told police that the man had allegedly handed the weapon to a woman before entering the property, ElCaso reported. The report said officers could not confirm that account because the woman was not at the scene when they arrived.

The reported sequence is therefore still under investigation. The available account does not identify the man, the person allegedly threatened, or the woman mentioned by witnesses.

What residents can do

Anyone who witnessed a crime or has information relevant to an investigation can contact the Mossos through its official crime-report service. In an immediate emergency, residents should call 112, the emergency number used by neighbours in this case.
