Residents of Lloreda and nearby neighbourhoods can use Biblioteca Lloreda as part of Badalona’s municipal library network, a free public service that provides access to information, culture and knowledge, according to Badalona City Council.

The network includes one central urban library and five neighbourhood libraries. Its collections include books, Braille books, e-books, audiobooks, music, films, newspapers, magazines and multimedia material. Most items can be borrowed free of charge with a library card.

Six libraries across Badalona

Biblioteca Lloreda is one of the six libraries named by the council:

  • Biblioteca Central Urbana Can Casacuberta
  • Biblioteca Canyadó i Casagemes-Joan Argenté
  • Biblioteca Llefià-Xavier Soto
  • Biblioteca Lloreda
  • Biblioteca Pomar
  • Biblioteca Sant Roc

For Lloreda residents, this means access to the citywide collection rather than a service limited to a single neighbourhood branch. The council says the network also promotes reading, digital technology use, social cohesion and equal opportunities.

€21,000 used for library collections

The council says it received €21,000 through the European Union’s Next Generation funds to acquire books for Badalona’s public-library system. The purchases were intended to broaden the material available to users across the network, including at Biblioteca Lloreda.

The acquired material includes inclusive formats such as large-print books designed to make reading easier. The scheme is identified by the council as PRTR code C24. I02. P04. S07. Sl01.

Lloreda is in Badalona’s District 2, which also includes Sant Crist, Sistrells, Nova Lloreda, Puigfred, La Pau and Montigalà. Residents can check the council’s municipal libraries page for information about the network and its services.
