600 Jobs to Support Black Friday Logistics
Gi Group, a temporary and permanent employment services firm under the Italian multinational Gi Group Holding, plans to hire 600 workers in Catalonia for the upcoming Black Friday campaign, as reported on 6th November 2026. The recruitment push will strengthen logistics, transport, and distribution operations during one of the busiest commercial periods of the year, ensuring timely delivery of increased e-commerce orders.
In-Demand Roles in Warehousing and Delivery
Most positions will focus on logistics operations and last-mile distribution. Key roles include warehouse operatives for picking and packing, forklift operators, order pickers, and drivers or delivery personnel responsible for final deliveries. Opportunities are available with immediate hiring and new roles added daily, allowing applicants to match positions to their experience. Requirements vary by role: drivers and delivery staff must hold a valid driving licence; forklift operators need the relevant certification; and some roles in food-related order handling may require a food handler’s certificate. One current listing in Sant Fruitós de Bages, Barcelona, seeks warehouse logistics assistants for e-commerce, offering a rotating shift pattern (6:00–14:15 and 14:00–22:15), a fixed-term contract with renewal potential, and a gross hourly wage of €9.40. The role includes free company transport to the site.
E-Commerce Surge Drives Seasonal Hiring
The rise in online shopping, particularly during Black Friday, has intensified demand for efficient goods handling and consumer delivery. Logistics, food distribution, and last-mile delivery are now central to seasonal job creation. Additional hiring pressure comes from high-demand retail sectors including technology, consumer electronics, fashion, footwear, health and beauty, and home and decoration.
