Spanish National Police have arrested a fugitive in Barcelona who is wanted by the Dominican Republic in connection with a murder that resulted in one death and one serious injury.
According to a police statement released on Wednesday 14 October 2026, the suspect allegedly opened fire after exiting a vehicle, shooting two people. One victim died at the scene, while the other sustained life-threatening injuries.
The fugitive was wanted under an International Arrest Warrant issued by Dominican courts for a murder charge carrying a potential 30-year prison sentence. He was apprehended in Barcelona by officers from the National Police’s fugitive unit, who located him after an international manhunt.
Following his arrest, the suspect was brought before Spanish judicial authorities to begin extradition proceedings. The Dominican Republic has formally requested his return to face trial.
