Palau de la Generalitat and Parliament Open Free

The Palau de la Generalitat, seat of the Catalan government in Plaça Sant Jaume, Barcelona, will open to the public on Friday 11 September 2026 from 11:00 to 17:00. Entry requires prior registration via the official open days portal. The Parliament of Catalonia will also be open from 11:00 to 19:00 with no booking required. The Palau Robert in Barcelona is accessible from 09:00 to 14:30, also without registration.


Historic Sites and Museums Offering Free Access

Medieval sites including the Cartoixa d'Escaladei, the Monastery of Santes Creus and Miravet Castle will offer free entry. Among the museums opening their doors are the Empúries Ruins Museum in L’Escala, the National Museum of Science and Technology in Terrassa, the Museum of Archaeology and the Museum of History of Catalonia in Barcelona, and the Girona Art Museum.

The Generalitat has made publicly available a full list of participating sites for Diada 2026, including a searchable map.

A wide range of cultural spaces across Catalonia will participate, continuing the annual tradition of opening emblematic locations to the public on National Day. Further details and a complete list of venues can be found on the Cultural Heritage website.
