Barcelona Hosts New European Energy Storage Event
Fira de Barcelona is launching its first major exhibition dedicated to energy storage, marking the city’s growing role in Europe’s green industrial transition. The new event, Battery & ES Tech Europe, will take place on 8 and 9 September 2026 at the Fira Gran Via venue in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with 104-Media, the fair aims to connect industry, research institutions, public administrations, and sectoral entities around one of Europe’s most strategic emerging sectors.
A Hub for Innovation and Collaboration
The inaugural edition will bring together more than 100 companies, institutions, and associations, alongside over 70 international experts in batteries and energy storage technologies. According to Fira de Barcelona, the event is designed to foster innovation, business opportunities, and cross-sector alliances.
Battery Tech Europe was born with the aim of being the meeting point for companies, professionals and experts where the great challenges of the sector are analysed, business opportunities are generated, innovation is catalysed and alliances are facilitated that promote the development of a key industry for the future of Europe.

Focus on Strategic Technologies and Applications
Discussions will centre on six key areas: financing, policy and regulation, next-generation technologies, high-performance batteries and new chemistries, recycling and second life, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The exhibition will also showcase innovations across non-automotive sectors, including aerospace, aviation, rail transport, drones, and maritime electrification. Solutions for grid-scale storage and long-duration energy systems will be highlighted, reflecting Europe’s push for energy independence and sustainable infrastructure. Attendees will include engineers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers involved in the continent’s green energy transformation. Organisers expect more than 2,000 professionals to attend.
