Endesa presented Esplugues de Llobregat City Council with an investment plan of more than €1.4 million to reinforce the municipality's electricity grid on Thursday 23 July. The proposal matters to households and businesses in Esplugues because it is intended to strengthen the local distribution network, although no timetable, streets or individual projects have been published.

The meeting and planned investment were announced by the electricity company in a statement reported on 23 July. The information available does not say when work would begin, which parts of Esplugues would be covered, or whether the full amount has been formally committed.

Previous network work in Esplugues

Endesa previously completed a medium-voltage network extension in Esplugues in January 2014. That project included 430 metres of underground 25 kV cable and 45 metres of double-circuit underground cable to supply a new Aldo-Unión pharmaceutical building on Carrer de Sabina Mitjavila.

More broadly, Endesa's published Barcelona grid plan described investment in high-, medium- and low-voltage infrastructure, including network automation and digitalisation. That plan covered Barcelona city for 2021–2023 and does not set out the newly announced Esplugues scheme.

Until Endesa or the Ajuntament, the town council, publishes further details, residents seeking information about potential local works will need to consult their usual Endesa customer channels or the council's notices.
