Art event returns with exhibitions and free activities
The 12th edition of Barcelona Gallery Weekend takes place from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September 2026, featuring 25 art galleries in Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The event showcases around 50 national and international artists through new exhibitions, guided tours, talks, and free public activities. Twenty-three galleries are participating in Barcelona, with two in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat: ethall and Galería Alegría. Galleries are located in Gràcia, Eixample, Zona Trafalgar, Ciutat Vella, Sant Antoni, Poble Nou, and L'Hospitalet.
FLASH and family programmes included
For the second consecutive year, the main exhibition programme runs alongside the FLASH initiative, which features 12 temporary exhibitions open only between 17 and 20 September. These pop-up shows offer short-term installations in non-traditional spaces, including PALMADOTZE’s pop-up at FoodCultura in Poble Nou. The BGW Familiar programme offers family-friendly activities on 20 and 26 September, aimed at making contemporary art accessible to younger audiences.
Free guided routes and talks will allow deeper engagement with the city’s contemporary art scene.
Guided walks and full schedule
Free guided routes, ARCO GalleryWalks, will take place on 20 and 26 September, offering 16 curated itineraries across participating galleries. These walks are led by gallerists, artists, and curators and include performances, presentations, and discussions on avant-garde and contemporary art. A full list of galleries, artists, and daily events is available on the official Barcelona Gallery Weekend calendar. Visitors can explore galleries such as ADN Galeria, Mayoral, Sala Parés, Bombon Projects, and Al-Tiba9 Gallery, among others, with all core activities free to attend.
