Seven people were treated after a fire in a flat on Carrer del Doctor Robert in Badalona at about 00:24 on Thursday 6 August, according to the Servei d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), Catalonia’s medical emergency service.
Two people were taken to Hospital Germans Trias in Badalona in a less serious condition. Five others were treated and discharged at the scene, while residents in the building were either kept inside their flats or evacuated during the response.
Three ambulances and eight fire units deployed
SEM said it sent three ambulances and a joint SEM-Bombers team. Bombers de la Generalitat, Catalonia’s fire and rescue service, said the fire was still active when crews arrived.
“For this flat fire in Badalona, SEM treated seven people: five were discharged at the scene and two were transferred in a less serious condition to Hospital Germans Trias.”
The fire service deployed eight units to make the building safe and ventilate it after extinguishing the blaze.
