L’Hospitalet de Llobregat’s Guàrdia Urbana, the municipal police force, and the Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police, identified 82 people during an inspection of a music bar on Carrer de Canigó in Collblanc on Wednesday 16 September, according to Metrópoli Abierta.

The operation formed part of Pla Nautilus, a L’Hospitalet policing plan that combines inspections, preventive patrols and enforcement action at nightlife venues across the municipality. For customers and venue operators, the checks can lead to police searches, administrative cases, fines or action against a premises’ operating licence.

Weapons seized and one arrest

Metrópoli Abierta reported that officers searched customers inside the premises and arrested one person who was wanted under an outstanding judicial warrant.

  • Four bladed weapons were seized from people at the venue.
  • Police opened proceedings under the Citizen Security Law, Spain’s public-security legislation, over the weapons. These are administrative cases that can result in financial penalties rather than a criminal conviction, depending on the offence assessed.
  • Inspectors issued a sanction after finding that the bar exceeded the maximum capacity allowed by its licence.

The inspection also found hookahs being used inside the enclosed venue and personal mobility vehicles, including electric scooters, inside the premises, the report said.

Pla Nautilus checks continue in Collblanc

The inspection followed the preventive closure of another bar in Collblanc for four months on Tuesday 15 September, after a municipal case was resolved, according to Metrópoli Abierta.

Residents and nightlife businesses affected by enforcement action can check the conditions of a venue’s municipal licence and any notification issued by L’Hospitalet City Council.
